Amy, I love all the pictures you send me every week. Seriously, it gets me through the hard times here. Anytime I'm feeling super low in confidence with myself, I read one of your stories or tell people one of your quotes. I taught an entire district of Latinas how to say "Get on my lips" last week. It was glorious. But I don't want all of our letter to be sad, which is why I will give you highlights.
Hermana Bart, the CCMdoctor's wife told me that she hates everytime people say D&C, because it means dialation curitage. Now I want to say it all the time.
I played the sports again yesterday and am pretty sure I found your doppleganger. She's named Aisha Davis (white), she's 23, and obsessed with Parks and Rec. We sang Jean Ralphio all through the gam and made other people annoyed. So even when I'm in the CCM in South America, I still have a little piece of you.
Peanut butter here is literally translated to butter of the peanut. "Manteqiulla de mani."
In a lesson the other day my companeras and I taught about temple marriage, and I mixed up the word otro for other with ocho for eight. So, I basically told my investigator its okay to have 8 husbands in the temple.
I'm so jazzed to hear you had a fun time at the concert. That sounds awesome, and you have an awesome single lady life.
I don't have time to write Megan, but please tell her I found her dopplegander too! Hername is Abby Purse, and she has a voice just like her's. She also loved Star Wars and Dr. Who, and is Davis' roomate. So its meant to be.
With love and sweats,
Hannah Lima Bean
This is my blog about my big sister Hannah and her adventures as a missionary in Lima South, Peru for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She is on an 18 month journey and I post her weekly emails. I hope you enjoy her stories about Peru!

I'M COMING HOME!
Chiste! Chiste! (That's the Peruvian word for psych or joke). I'm not coming home at all. I love it here, and since it's April Fools I couldn't resist. I love you all so much and your emails keep me going each week. I want you all to know that.
-Gibby calls playing the piano tickling the ivory. Nuff said.
-Every time we play futbol/soccer he acts like Dwight from the office
-The boys in my district are so young their voices crack like they're still in 7th grade. it especially sounds good when they sing "called to serve"
- I complained about the wet bathroom sinks the other day and this girl Chandler was like "my rule is, if its wet just wipe it." love her
-I complemented Chan on her beauty when she was washing her face last night, and she was all, "Dishonor on your family!", like the creepy eyeliner-ed matchmaker from Mulan
-The fact that I keep talking about the bathrooms is hilarious
-during class a fiesta was going on, and the fireworks going off made me feel like Max from The Book Thief. the part when he came out during the bomb raid.
-I'm totally throwing grammar to the wind
- Mi maestras started calling all the Hermanas "Barbies", and the Elders "Kens".
-I miss hugging Mama and Megan and Abby and Amy, and even Dad when he finally loosens up
I am so grateful for all of your letters and love, and I can't believe that I'm running out of time again and can't tell you what I wanna tell you. I still have proseliting stories. But that will be something to look forward too! Next Tuesday baby, next Tuesday.
I love you all, I'll write more later!
Things that made me laugh super hard this week:
-Elder Gibson made a mountain of jokes this week. That song from Warm Bodies, "I got a love that keeps me waiting" (by the Black Keys),he changed it to I got a snack that keeps me waiting.

-someone came back from the bathroom saying mission accomplished. That is now a bathroom saying.

Things that made me cry this week:
There weren't as many sad things going on this week, but I still felt like I was pretty overwhelmed.
-I screwed up a lesson with a fake investigator b/c I couldn't tell her what I wanted to in Spanish. I knew exactly what would help her to gain confidence and feel better in English, but I didn't remember how to say it in Spanish.
-I miss hugging Mama and Megan and Abby and Amy, and even Dad when he finally loosens up
-One of my Elders, Elder Foote, went home this week because he was too depressed and his OCD was kicking in really bad. He couldn't concentrate, and when he left I felt super bad for him. He'll probably come back in a few months, but I know that's gotta be hard for him.
I love you all, I'll write more later!

This pic is me and my old sister Gonzales! She left for her mission in Huancayo last week, and I miss her like the dickens. Luckily she came to the temple right when I did! She's Aussie, super cool, and super beautiful. When we end our missions we'll tour Australia and America together.

Girl Talk
I am so sorry I didn't have enough time to reply a longer email last week. I had a computer that was slower than the one from back to the future and had to condense all my though into a one hour email! But you know I love you more than helado. (ice cream in Spanish. Sounds dirty, right?)
So I have realized that boys are weired, and don't make sense half the time, and eat their food way too fast, esp. at the CCM. All the 3 guys in my district are younger than me by about a year, and they talk about making lists of girls they've kissed, or who's waiting for them, like they're off at war right now. Like that song in Mulan, A girl worth fighting for. It's kinda hilarious.
2 of em, Gibson and Paramore, went to BYU I last year and lived in the exact same apt. complex, La holla at La Jolla. So I could've easily met them and not even known it. We would've definitely been friends, because they both quote Billy Madison, School of Rock, and 30 Rock together. Plus, Gibson ( I really wanna call hime Gibby soon), is obsessed with sandwiches and even wrote a song for his school talent show about it , called O Sandwich. Look it up on youtube, it might be there.

So my Aussie friend Shanel Gonzales who left for her mission in Huancayo yesterday. We've forged a sisterhood only over a few weeks. She quotes pitch perfect and shared her vegemite with me at lunch, and she has beautiful skin. She's in the next pic I'll send you.
I may not be able to send you something right on your b day, b/c sending packages here costs an arm and a leg, and they take forever to get to the states, like on the pony express. But, I get into the field a week later, so I might be able to send you something then. I'll figure it out a write you an answer next week.
I love you more than Wes Anderson loves the color yellow, and I'm so proud of all your accomplishments. Be who you are, do what you do, quote 30 rock, stay in school only until you have to graduate, and share your love with the world!
Love,
Lima Bean
P.S. I think I typed too fast, so spell check this in your mind, ok?

The Peruvian Sweats
I'm sorry that I wasn't able to send a longer email last time- I was being really watched because I was in the mission prez. office. Hermana Gonzales is great though, she has a perfect way of saying sorta offensive things like Mama, but in a real sweet Peruvian way. The other day she gave everybody a lesson on the improtance of the temple, and told us about the time she met her husband as a crazy mousachioed, biker jacket, long haired man. When we laughed, she was all, "It was the 70's! Get over it!" LOLZ. Also, she calls the beetles outside cucarchas, like in tha little kid song, and she sang it for us. It was glorious. All the teachers here are kinda like that though, they can't really express themselves in English too well so they say things in Spanish with a sarcastic and happy smile. The ongoing joke about this Elder Foote is realmente funny. Hermana Caba just calls him fut, like in futboll, and we're always so tired we laugh way hard. GAA LEE I HATE THE SPANISH KEYBOARD. Its so hard to figure out.
Hmm. What else was super funny? I accidentally burnt my hair off the other day because I forgot about the voltage, and everyone was like, what's that curry smell? Also, I have some awesome Aussies in my ward who quote pitch perfect all the time like they should. Oh, and I'm now being called a feminist because I forget when its a good time to shave my legs..i.e. all the time. But, also asserting my womanliness is the only way to keep from being attracted to all the guys here. Yesterday they were playing futbol, then sang out loud, and then, cried during a devotional. My hormones are going nuts right now. But its also really funny, cuz we can't even tough each other to handshake, then diseases will spread, esp. the runs. So, we touch watches and other stuff like that.

Mi espanol is comin along, but I have to make sure that when I switch back to Spanish I don't sound like Nacho Libre. That's Elder FUT's job, cuz he's from Utah.
TODAY WAS P DAY! We went to the temple and had a bomb time riding on the crazy bus, like from Arthur. Absalutely, bussa looey! But seriously, its like they are in total race bumpercar mode, and everybody cuts into the street like its all cual to have an accident at noon. But I love it so much. We went to the Lima temple, which is tiny but goregous, and had a good time looking at all the cute little old ladies. Also, we went to the Peruvian Wal Mart, otherwise known as Tottus, and had a grand time hearing all the spanish covers to Beatles and Keane songs on the loudspeaker. It was kinda great.
The food is super good for the most part, kinda questionable, esp. the meat, which I think is llama when there's a huge hunka bone. But, it all tastes kinda corny and sweet, even gravy and icecream and pudding. I just keep thinking, why can't we have like a salad or somesing?(nacho). B/c the veggies and lettuce are always a little dirty. But its cual.
When you see the pictures I took today, you'll think, how can she look so glam and drunk at the same time? Sweats, sweats is my answer. I have sweated about half Tom Haverford's weight in sweat alone in the past week, and I'm kinda lovin' it.

The first pic is of me, Hermana Hafen, and Hermana Wilkins, in front of the CCM.
This second pic is of my whole district, Elders Fut, Gibson, (I call him Gibby), Livingston and Paramore( no relation to the band, sadly). And then mi companeras. We're wee in number, but big in heart.I wish I could write more, but you know I suck at typing and have to get to mama's email, but I LOVE YOU SOOOOOO MUCH and am so proud of you all.
Until next carrier pigeon,

I'm in Peru!
HI FAMILY! I LOVE YOU!
PERU IS SOOO COOL! The minute I got off the plane to Dallas I found a couple missionaries waiting at the same gate as me. I could tell they were missionaries right away because their Americanized clothing was a dead giveaway.
Then, I called ya'll, Amy, Grandma J and proceeded to board the plane filled with little cute latino babies. They all looked at me so funny and I made an idioto out of myself by making crazy faces.
Then I shared an interesting conversation with a sister next to me about the importance of airplane snacks. But that isn't the best part.
They have hugemongous churros here filled with caramel.
(Here's a visual I found on Google)
I can already tell that I'm going to have to get used to smelling like a wet gym sock because of the humidity, and I know my Spanish is gonna have to improve if I want to say ANYTHING other than "Eating is good," and "I'm way excited to see a guinea pig and a llama."
Especially because in a couple of days we have to teach about the law of chastity in Espanol. That'll be fun to pull the words I know from my favorite telenovela, "El Corazon Prohibito."
So the girl Natalie that I was chatting with before I left is my MTC companion! I also know that Sister Wilking and I are going to get along swimmingly because she is real sweet and takes my sass.
But that is all I have time to write right now because this was really supposed to be a short message and I still stank at using this keyboard.
The next letter will be mondo better. (Almost wrote mono, LOLS.) I won't worry about all this keyboard stuff, will have an hour to respond, and will be throwing grammar to the wind.
I LOVE ALL OF YOU SO MUCH! THE CHURCH IS TRUE! Keep spring breaking, and be careful hiking on the crazy montanas of Ft. Davis.
My next P-Day will be on Tuesday at about high noon. I'll send pics then I promise!
With much love and sweats,
Lima bean

Leaving Day
Sister Addington officially left today! It was difficult for my family and I (Meg, Sis. Add's sister) to let her go. Hannah brings so much light and positivity to family, and she is such a sweet person to be around. But, our dad said that we cannot be selfish, and we must share her with the world.
Sister Addington should be arriving in Lima here in about 20 minutes or so, and she will embark on an incredible journey that will touch so many lives. We are all incredibly proud of her decision and her bravery. Here are a few pictures we took before the boarded the plane.
Hannah and our Dad (he is so proud!)
Hannah, me, our Momma, and Abigail
A lil' selfie for y'all
Han and big sis Amy
Han and lil' Abs
We can't wait to see what Peru will bring Hannah! :)
